Johann Bauersachs

Johann Bauersachs (born 22 April 1966 in Karlsruhe) is a German internist, cardiologist, intensive care physician and professor at the Hannover Medical School. He is director of the Department of Cardiology and Angiology. He is known for his scientific work in the fields of acute coronary syndrome, left ventricular healing and remodeling after ischemia as well as acute and chonic heart failure.
==Biography ==
After his studies and medical thesis at the University of Freiburg in 1993 Bauersachs worked as assistant physician at the Department of Medicne IV and at the Institute of Cardiovascular Physiology of the University Hospital Frankfurt, and at the Department of Medicine of the University Medical Centre Mannheim. He was habilitated in internal medicine at the University Hospital of Wuerzburg in 2001 and reiceived the venia legendi. He was appointed associate professor and consultant in cardiology and intensive care at the Department of Medicine at the University Hospital of Wuerzburg in 2008. Since 2010, Bauersachs is full professor and director of the Department of Cardiology and Angiology at Hannover Medical School.
